Improved SiC/SiC Materials for Fusion Applications Parts

For a long time, silicon carbide composites are very attractive materials for fusion applications. To be able to make representative parts, a large number of improvements must be realized.
Starting from an industrial basis of producing ceramic matrix composites for aeronautical applications, we have improved mechanical and thermal properties of SiC/SiC composites by modifying its textile reinforcement. With these textures, we have produced and tested generic parts (U, T, C, O types).
We have also tested different joining technologies; these results will be presented.
